Love Tango? Meet Binairo
LinkedIn's Tango is a modern take on a puzzle called Binairo (or Takuzu). Here's what's the same, what's different, and where to play unlimited.
Hoot & Fox is not affiliated with LinkedIn. Tango is a LinkedIn Games title.
| Feature | Classic Binairo | LinkedIn Tango | Hoot & Fox Plus |
|---|---|---|---|
| Symbols | Two, e.g. 0/1 | Sun / Moon | Owl / Fox |
| Equal counts per line | Yes | Yes | Yes |
| No three in a row | Yes | Yes | Yes |
| = / × links | No | Yes | Yes (from Lantern Glade) |
| Grid sizes | Varies by source | 6×6 only | 6×6 to 12×12 |
| Puzzles per day | Varies by source | One daily | One Daily + Unlimited |
| Hints explain the deduction | Varies by source | No | Yes |

Same logic
Both puzzles use two symbols, require equal counts in every row and column, and forbid three alike in a row. If you can solve Tango, you can solve Binairo today.
What Tango added
The = and × links between cells. Classic Binairo doesn't have them; Hoot & Fox includes them in "Plus" puzzles from Lantern Glade onward, so you get both flavours.
Pip: Links let the puzzle setter remove more givens, so grids feel emptier and the deductions run longer. Use the × and = to finish this row.

What's different here
- Unlimited puzzles — in the browser and Endless in the app.
- Four sizes — 6×6 up to 12×12, not just 6×6.
- Hints that explain — every hint names the technique and shows the line.
- No guessing, guaranteed — every puzzle passes a human-technique solver before it ships.
- Owls and foxes instead of suns and moons, with a Daily, streaks and a weekly league in the app.
A bit of history
Binairo appeared in Belgian newspapers in the late 2000s; Takuzu is the same puzzle by another name. LinkedIn launched Tango in 2024 as part of LinkedIn Games. Hoot & Fox launched in 2026.
Pip: Two foxes then an owl, then a gap, then an owl. Rule 2 says the gap can't be an owl. Finish the row.
